Viruses
The amount of viruses circulating through the email is increasing. Always ensure your virus scanner is up to date (update it at least every 2 weeks), and if you receive a suspicious looking email, delete it immediately.
With Christmas approaching, e-cards become more popular. Be wary as some of these may be hoax cards containing viruses. (19/11/03)
Faster Internet Access
You may have seen Software which claim to speed up your Internet Access. NO Software can ever do this. The only way to speed up your Internet Connection is to change the way you connect. An example of this is Wireless Broadband. For more info click here. (08/04/03)
Virus Definitions
“Virus Definitions” are what your Virus Scanner uses to know what new viruses are out there and how to protect your computer against them. Your “Virus Definitions” should never be any more than 2 weeks old. If you find that the date of your “Virus Definitions” exceed this, run the "Live Update" option in your virus scanner or visit the manufactures website to manually download them.

Missing Attachments?
Outlook Express 6 and Outlook XP now have the ability to hide attachments that it believes to contain a virus or be a threat to the computer. If you wish to have access to these attachments then you must turn this feature off. Please note we DO NOT recommend that you do this. If you do disable this "hide" feature then it will leave your computer exposed to threats such as viruses. To turn this feature OFF click here. (03/10/02)
SPAM!!
If you find your mailbox constantly filling up with junk e-mail (SPAM), IDL now has the solution for you. We have implemented a program called SpamAssassin on our Mail Server which will make it easier for your computer to detect and filter SPAM, for more information click here (12/09/02)
